WTides: Windows harmonic tide predictor

Matakana River Sunrise

WTides is free software.  There is no charge for downloading, using or distributing it.  On the other hand, this website costs a little money each month, and a donation to help cover costs is always welcome.  If you like the program and use it regularly, failing to send a donation is like leaving your wallet at home when you go to a bar with your friends.  It's not illegal, but you know it's not right.

Version 3.1.3 of WTides is available for download.  Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Pedro Alves, this version now permits Portuguese speakers to use WTides in their native tongue.

From year 2005 onwards the tide predictions for german North Sea ports will refer to LAT instead of MLWS, which was until now chart datum for the nautical charts of the german North Sea coast.

An extra set of harmonics has been made available which copies the data from the standard database. In this copy, the port names have been changed by the addition of "(rel to MLWS)" and "(rel to LAT)", and the chart datum modified appropriately.

The data are identical except for the chart datum.

Any German ports not labelled as above come from the main database, and the chart datum should be manually checked.
